Dogs Chasing Cars!

What is it with dogs. They are always chasing cars. Here you are drivng along, having a peaceful ride. You stop at a stop sign, andas you start to go, there he is coming right at you. Sometimes you are very much aware of his prescense, but sometimes he's coming out of nowhere. It just cracks me up. You know he loves the chase, so sometimes you play along. You also don't want to hurt him, so you have to be a bit cautios with your approach and retreat.

My parents had this dog when I was a kid. He would lay in the middle of the road and wait. There were no surprises where he was concerned, you knew exactly what he was up to. The neighbor hood kids would play little games with him and then he would be all done and go back to his place in the road to wait for the next person. Oddly this isn't what killed him. He died of heart failure.

All in all. I think it is un-American for dogs not to chase cars. There is something wrong with the dog that doesn't do it. They should be checked out by a vet.
